EVERY BUSINESS HAS A STORY. A brochure is the most common way to tell the story about the product or service. Every aspect of the brochure speaks to the customer about the business. Color, photography, illustrations, copy, paper, typography and most importantly how the piece is designed tells your customer what to expect. A brochure that is expertly written and designed lets your customer know that they will get professional service as well.

 

The term brochure comes from the French language and literally means “something stitched”. Brochures are created in every shape and size. The most common and economical are different variations of the standard paper size of 8.5 x 11 inches. Besides brochures, printed materials can be used in a variety of ways to communicate your message and offerings. Among those are:  sales sheets, data sheets, presentation folders, postcards, rack cards, door hangers, posters, banners, newsletters and invitations.

 

It would be wise to ensure that all the different types of print media you direct your designer to create should be in alignment with your company’s branding and marketing strategy. To make each item look visually different can undermine your marketing and sales goals. Designers are highly aware of this fact. Don’t believe the illusion that human nature is different regarding your product or service. It takes time for your potential customer to make their first purchase. Consistency in look and message are key elements of this process.
